Politicizing bin Laden's Death Looks Desperate

Nile Gardiner, Telegraph
The magnificent operation by US Navy Seals to terminate Osama bin Laden in Pakistan a year ago this week united a divided nation, and brought with it a sense of closure for millions of Americans nearly a decade on from the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington, DC. Thousands gathered in front of the White House as well as in Times Square to celebrate the news of bin Laden's demise in the early hours of May 2, 2011. It was one of the most memorable events of the early 21st Century.

Four Gaming Clichs That Absolutely Need To Die

It's obvious, the PC and console game industry is in desperate need of an overhaul. With skyrocketing costs to develop games, gamers aren't going to accept $80-$100 game titles, especially not with mobile prices in the 99 cent - $4.99 range and with food and gas prices on the rise. In addition, attempts to seize the used game market and turn...

LG Optimus 2X my way: Richard Devine

Lg Optimus 2X

Following on the series, it's time to give you guys an insight into how I use my Android phone. Generally, I have two phones on the go, and up until recently one of those was a Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I've now waved goodbye to the Nexus and welcomed into my life a shiny new (and white, most importantly) HTC One X. It would be a pretty short read featuring the One X, so we'll focus on my other daily driver -- my long serving LG Optimus 2X. The 2X is still the phone that runs my "normal" phone number, it's the one that people actually call and text me on -- yeah, people do still do that apparently. So I never leave the house without it.

After the break, i'll take you through it.

Missed penalty kicks not the stuff of Champions

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo fail to convert as their Spanish teams lose in UEFA semifinals.

It was like Michael Jordan missing a game-winning free throw or LeBron James bouncing a dunk off the rim. It was Justin Verlander losing a World Series game on a wild pitch or Eli Manning blowing the Super Bowl with an interception in the end zone.

Kindle Fire has strong lead in Android-based tablet market

At the end of February, Amazon's Fire accounted for 54.4% of tablets in the U.S. that run Google's Android software, up from 29.4% in December, ComScore says. The iPad is the overall market leader.

The Kindle Fire appears to be burning up its competition — on the Android side, anyway.

Five Reasons To See 'The Five-Year Engagement'

"The Five-Year Engagement" is not your typical romantic comedy. It has conflict built right into the title, instead of using a Nancy Meyers-esque turn of phrase. Korean Christian Groups Call to Ban Lady Gaga, "Pornographic" Show

Lady Gaga is under fire in Korea - and not even from the Northern half.

Christian groups in South Korea called on Friday for the pop star to cancel her concert there, saying it's "pornographic" and pro-homosexuality.

South Korea's government has already bowed to public pressure and banned people under 18 from attending, but certain protesters said that was not enough.

Hot Lady Gaga Shot

"Even adults can't see her performance which is too homosexual and pornographic," said Rev. Yoon Jung-hoon, organizer of "Civilians Network against the Lady Gaga Concert."

"Some people can simply accept this as another culture but its impact is huge beyond art and debases religions."

The singer's hit song "Born This Way" celebrates the empowerment of gay men and women, something that many in South Korea, which is the second most Christian country in Asia after the Philippines, say is an immoral lifestyle.

No word if they've even heard the Lady Gaga hermaphrodite rumor.

The star has been in Seoul for close on a week as she kicks off her Asian "Born this Way" tour. So far, the backlash doesn't seem to have fazed her.

"Nervous for tonight. Hope I make little monsters happy and proud," she Tweeted a few hours before the concert kicked off.

Yoon's group claims to have collected 5,000 supporters on Facebook against the concert and some have also called for a boycott of the sponsor Hyundai.

"The Christian Council of Korea with 12 million Christians and 55,000 churches will take all kinds of measures such as boycotting Hyundai to root out this kind of obscene culture," the council said in a statement.

Yoon said he would attend the concert to "monitor" the much-anticipated performance for homosexual content that could corrupt young people.

Have fun with that.
